Speech bubbles for mitzvah photos

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But how do you get the words into that picture? MrBubbleTalk on Etsy has found the answer! Speech bubbles on a stick! These would be such a whimsical prop for a photobooth or digital picture station at a Bar/Bat Mitzvah! Customize it to say "Mazel Tov!" or "Rachel's Bat Mitzvah Rocks!" to get some great personalization on your photos.  If you want to try DIY, just write your saying on black foamcore with a special pen meant for writing on black paper. Here's a link for pens that can do this: White journaling pens. Then cut out the speech bubble using a hot exacto knife (these electric hot knives can be purchased at craft stores like Michaels). Attach a wooden dowel with some hot glue and you are done! What a great idea!

Mason Jar Candy Favors

I am throwing a Sweet 16 dinner party for my daughter this weekend, and created this little party favor for all her friends. This was an inexpensive project, and would be a great favor for any mitzvah as well. I purchased a small mason jar at Michaels (about $1.50 each). Filled with candy, and tied a grosgrain ribbon around the jar vertically (I secured it with a little clear tape). I tied a separate bow, and attached that to the vertical ribbon with a glue gun. Then I created a little logo based on the Reeses' logo for her, and printed it on glossy stickers for the front of the jar. I love how they turned out, and they will certainly look festive on the table!

Lollipops Place Card Display: Lollipops are Popping!

Just found another adorable display of lollipop place cards! In this setup, the lollipops are standing in a tray of grass, popping up like little flowers. Each lollipop has an individual sticker with the guest's name and table assignment (table names are different types of candy). I thought this would be a great display for the ever-popular candy-themed bar/bat mitzvahs!

Just ask your florist to order you a large tray of wheat grass to make this display yourself.  Purchase some whirly pops to add a great swirl of color (60 for $60.95 at the Candy Crate).

Create the name labels (these could even be done in Microsoft Word). I've found that with labels like these, it's best to print on full letter sized 8.5" x 11" sticker sheets (found at office supply stores), and then cut to size. Adhere labels to the pops, arrange in the tray, and you have a fun and colorful place card display. I love when the place card establishes the theme and doubles as a little party favor as well!

Daisy Themed Sweet 16

We had the pleasure of putting together this adorable sweet 16 for a client last weekend, and it turned out beautifully. When she told us that her daughter loved daisies, we just ran with that idea! We created a fun whimisical logo, and used it to create t-shirt favors for each guest. Each t-shirt was rolled up and packaged like an old-fashioned piece of candy--everything needs to look "sweet" for this sweet 16! The placecards were created by hot gluing a silk daisy to the mini flower pot. The name tags leaves were created by printing the names on green paper, cutting out the names in leaf shapes, and gluing each leaf beneath each daisy. It was finished off with a yellow gingham bow around each pot. We had trays of wheat grass with daisies "growing" out of them as the centerpieces to each table. Daisy balls were hung from the ceiling for an extra touch. Old-fashioned lemonade was served in mason jars with a daisy-cut tin top. Fondue was served, along with a s'mores station for dessert. For entertainment, we rented a retro photobooth, and programmed the logo to appear on the bottom square of the photo strip to "brand" each one. Makes you want to be sixteen again!

Sports Bar Mitzvah Logo

I often get contacted to design custom logos for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs--what a fun job! Here is a recent custom logo I created for a young man who loves many sports. They were looking for a way to bring all the sports together in a single cohesive theme, with colors of blue and green. Here is the result! This logo will be used on the main signage for the party, as well as the centerpieces and imprinted items. If you need a custom logo design, contact us at laura@partyperfectorlando.com.

Fabulous Felt Pennant Placecards

If you are planning a sports themed event, check out these fabulous felt pennants we created for a recent football-themed bar mitzvah! I created the party logo design based on the NFL logo--Scott's Superbowl XIII.

This logo was incorporated into the pennant design along with Scott's name. We then sent the design to an promotional imprint company to print the pennants for us. The pennants were then displayed on a tiered stand, and tags with names and table assignments were attached with ribbon to each pennant. Extra pennants were placed in bowls of peanuts for additional decor around the kids area.

The kids and adult guests waved the pennants during Scott's grand entrance, and he was thrilled! Of course the dancers were dressed as referees!

These professional photos were taken by the extremely talented photographer, Jennifer Werneth.

Personalized Candy Box

It was such fun to make this personalized candy box for an upcoming wedding candy buffet. We simply made a circular label that was the size of the "Good & Plenty" logo. Once adhered to the box, we have our own adorable branded item to mark the occasion of this special day for Nicole and Michael. Stay tuned for full pix of this gorgeous candy buffet!

Tree Sapling Favors

Instead of giving away another pair of flannel pajama pants at your Bar/Bat Mitzvah, consider a "green" alternative". Giving your guests little tree saplings would be such a wonderful way to celebrate this wonderful occasion of new beginnings. I recently saw this photo featured on Elizabeth Ann Design's blog.

If you want to give away tree saplings at your event, check out the options at Green World Project. They will send you tree saplings already packaged up as favors--and will select which type of tree would be best based on your state.

So consider marking your Bar/Bat Mitzvah with the planting of new trees, and help make the world a greener place!
