Looking for a wonderful and unique Bar or Bat Mitzvah gift?  Consider this PermaPlaque box, which has the invitation on the cover.  It comes in a variety of sizes and colors, and would make a great keepsake of the special day.  box1.jpg

Candy Bar Favors

It is really fun to get personalized candy bar wrappers to use as favors at each place setting. It ties the theme into your table really nicely, and Hershey Bars are available in bulk at places like Costco and Sam's Club. I used Personalized Sweets, and they came out wonderfully. However, it is time-consuming to wrap the bars in foil and glue the wrappers on each bar, so be warned!6c10e700.jpg

Kippot from Israel

Zara Mart  I ordered my daughter's kippot from this company in Israel. They were beautiful hand-crocheted kippot--I highly recommend them! They have many beautiful designs. They also offer personalization with labels ironed on inside each kippot. For the labels, you can order one of their stock label designs, or email them your own design. Allow a little extra time for shipping (I ordered 6-8 weeks prior to the Bat Mitzvah). em1182%20small.jpg

It's Wanderful!

Another fun addition to your decor can be the centerpieces.  Wanderfuls are a great option, because they double as a centerpiece and a party favor.  The tubes can be filled with any type of candy (we used Hershey's kisses).  The tubes are favors for each guest at the table to take home.  The tubes can also be wrapped with imprinted ribbon with the Bat/Bar mitzvah's name and date of the event.  Some people add balloons to the center to give it a bit more height.  I added playbills in the center, and had balloons off the top of that.Mid34.jpg

Will the real Bat Mitzvah girl please stand up?

I used Lifesize Custom Cutouts for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. The cutout was of superior quality. The photo did not look grainy, it was very sturdy, and came very quickly after ordering.  It is still in my daughter's room to this day!  Highly recommend this company!  This is a very fun piece of decor for the party. I had my daughter hold a sign that said "Please sign my guestbook" in the photo, and placed the cutout next to the guestbook station at the party.

Sweet Favor!

This store, Sugar, Sugar based in Lake Mary, Florida, makes the cutest custom candy for favors, out-of-tower bags, etc.  They can put your child's name in the actual candy, and it tastes delicious as well.  They also make custom lollipops.  How sweet it is!willcarrie100.jpg

Welcome to Mitzvahlicious!

Welcome to the Mitzvahlicious website.  I came up with the concept for this site in the planning for my own daughter's Bat Mitzvah.  I noticed that there were no websites dedicated exclusively to Bar and Bat Mitzvah planning.  The only website that came close was the Party411 website, who hosts a wonderful Bat/Bar Mitzvah discussion forum with a fantastic group of people who are always there to help with any problem that might arise when planning for a Bat/Bar mitzvah.

As a result, I decided to create this site, and hopefully consolidate much of the info I learned from the Party411 discussion boards, as well as post my own finds and helpful tips.  All revenue from advertising on this site will be donated to breast cancer research, in honor of my mother, who is a survivor of breast cancer and doing very well now.

Please email me with your own finds and ideas. I would love to hear them!
