Bat Mitzvah Candlelighting Board
Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 12:54AM We recently made this candlelighting board for a beautiful Bat Mitzvah! Here's how to make one of your own!
1. Buy large styrofoam sheets at your local craft store (These were approximately 18" x 36"). Spray paint them in whatever color you desire. I used a chrome colored paint for this board. Finish off the edge with a wide ribbon, secured with straight pins.
2. I ordered this lettering from Marlyss, who did a wonderful job!! She sent it to me with the picks already attached in the back.
3. Buy tall dripless tapers for the candles in the back, and press them into the styrofoam. I put a 6" square of mylar beneath each candle before I pushed them into the foam, which creates a metallic looking poof and also would catch any dripping wax.
4. Embellish with anything you wish! We added large swirly pops, poofs of metallic mylar and pink tissue (we added picks to these with a handheld floral pick machine), and some star sprays.
