Dance Floor Sizing

When planning your event, don't forget to think about the sizing of your dance floor. The most common mistake is to make it too small... I've been to so many Bar/Bat Mitzvahs where the dance floor wasn't large enough, and everyone was stepping on each other during the Hora. It prevents people from participating in the festivities if they think they are going to be squished!

So use this simple formula to get an idea of how large your dance floor should be:

Number of guests x 3 sq feet = area of dance floor

For example: 150 guests x 3 sq feet = 450 sq ft dance floor (which is a 21 x 21 ft dance floor)

Usually indoor dance floors come in 3 sq ft sections, so plan in multiples of 3. If you have enough room, you may even want to consider 4 sq feet per guest to be sure of ample room for your guests to dance the night away!
